Bengal Gram Dal Ladoo
This is my own recipe birthed out of curiosity- On a Friday evening when my daughter wanted to eat something sweet and healthy. Its easy to make for those unplanned potlucks/parties.

Roasted Bengal Gram Dal, Jaggery Powder, Cashews, Cardamom
RECIPE FOR BENGAL GRAM DAL LADOO:
Ingredients:
Roasted Bengal Gram Dal - 1 cup
Jaggery Powder - 1/2 cup
Dry Coconut - 4 tblsp
Cashews (broken into pieces) - 20
Cardamom - 1
Ghee - 3 tblsp
Instructions:
Place the following ingredients into mixie jar in THIS ORDER: 1/2 cup bengal gram dal, jaggery, remaining 1/2 cup of bengal gram dal, dry coconut, peeled cardamom.
Grind all the ingredients from Step 1 into a fine powder.
Transfer powder to a plate and mix well with spoon or hand to make sure everything combines together.
In a small pan, heat up the ghee. Once hot, add the broken cashews and roast until golden brown.
Break the cashews into tiny pieces as possible
Pour the hot ghee and cashews on to the powder and allow it to cool for a minute.
When you are able to touch the ghee with your hand, use your hand to thoroughly mix all the ingredients in the plate until everything is mixed well.
Take a small amount of mixture and roll it in your palm to make a small ball. Do the same with the rest of the dough.
Bengal Gram Dal Ladoo is ready to be savored! You can eat the ladoos immediately or store it in an airtight box to enjoy for another time.
Tips & Tricks:
Ghee melts and turns into a black color easily if unattended so please be careful. If not heat up little oil, fry cashews and then add ghee let it melt before pouring in the ground mixture
If you prefer to more sweet you can adding green raisins in the ghee after the cashews are almost done.
