Green Apple Pickle

It’s an instant pickle if you want to awe your guests

Desika Products:

Turmeric Powder, Gluten Free Hing, Sesame Oil

BENEFITS OF APPLE AND SESAME OIL:

  • We all know an apple a day keeps the doctor away

  • Sesame oil is high-in antioxidants and good for health

RECIPE FOR GREEN APPLE PICKLE

Ingredients:

Tart Green apple - 1
Red chili powder 1 – 1 and 1/2 tsp
Roasted methi seed powder -2 pinches
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida - 2 pinches
Sesame oil - 1 and 1/2 tblsp
Salt as needed

Instructions:

  1. Wash & thoroughly wipe the apple with a tissue to ensure its not wet

  2. Cut the apple into cubes

  3. Add salt, turmeric powder & red chili powder

  4. Heat a small pan or kadai, add the sesame oil and when it’s hot enough add mustard seeds, wait until it sputters, then add the methi powder & asofoedita

  5. Mix all this well and adjust the salt if needed

  6. Green apple pickle is ready to be served

  7. This goes well with rice & upma’s too

Tips & Tricks:

  • When buying apples, make sure its firm and buy the tart kind

  • I used Desika’s cold pressed sesame oil & it sure enhances the taste of the pickle. I am sharing my experience after trying it with other store-bought oils
