Chia Seeds Pudding

This is one of the recipes I discovered during the COVID lockdown. I’ve tried multiple variations of the pudding and have landed on this easy and convenient recipe. Chia seeds pudding is a simple and low-calorie breakfast loaded with many health benefits. Black chia seeds are loaded with high quality protein and fiber. If eaten regularly, this simple breakfast can aid in your weight loss journey.

RECIPE FOR CHIA SEEDS PUDDING

Ingredients:

Chia seeds - 6 tblsp

Almond Milk - 2 cups

Maple Syrup - 3 tblsp

Apple - 1

Banana - 1

Orange - 1

Your choice of nuts

Instructions:

  1. In a glass box, add the chia seeds. Pour in 1/2 cup of milk and stir.

  2. Use quick/tiny circular motions while mixing to ensure the chia seeds don’t clump together. Look through the sides of the box to see if any seeds are sticking to the sides.

  3. Continue stirring and pour the rest of the milk in slowly. The chia seeds will expand slightly while you mix so make sure you don’t fill the box fully with milk.

  4. Once the chia seeds are thoroughly stirred, add in the maple syrup and mix well. You can check for sweetness now and adjust if needed.

  5. Close the glass box and allow it to sit in the fridge overnight or for 6-8 hours.

  6. After the seeds have soaked, the pudding consistency may be too thick. Add more milk to reach the desired consistency and mix well.

  7. Finely chop and the apples and orange and slice the banana. Use these fruits along with your choice of nuts to top your chia pudding. Serve chilled.

Tips & Tricks:

  • Any type of milk can be used for this recipe, but I find that using almond milk gives the pudding a good taste.

  • You can also top with chopped nuts, dried fruits, etc.

  • Maple syrup can be substituted with any sweetener of your choice. The amount may vary so use trial and error to find the best amount of substitute sweetener that works for you.
